Donor selection & evaluation

To assess for suitability of Donor:
  • CLINICAL –  history of risk factors for infection,  malignancy (in the past 5 years). Presence of co-morbidities
  • ABO typing (if recipients < 2 years ABOi transplant could be carried if isohemagglutinis titers < 1/16)
  • Serology tests (CMV, Hepatitis, HIV)
  • Infection and malignant screening
  • Echocardiography: LVEF > 50%, not structural anomalies
  • Coronariography (depending risks factors and age)
  • Ratio weight donor-recipient (0.7-3)
